Like most of us, my grandfather was a farmer and left behind a valuable legacy and gift for us in the form of the agriculture land in our village called Lakkalakatti, Gajendragad Tq, Gadag Dist, Karnataka. My father settled in Bangalore way back in 1980s after graduating from his medicine degree. I was born in 1983 in Bangalore but i would always visit my village in our summer vacation along with my brother, 2 years younger to me. He was fond of the farm animals and i had a lot of affinity towards trees, plants etc. I took up gardening in the front yard of our rented home and grew a lot vegetables, banana, leafy vegetables and also a small lawn. The period between 2000 and 2015 was when i was entirely disconnected from gardening. My visits to my village had also tapered down to a days visit once in two years. In the 1998 after partition of the lands among the brothers, my father planted 250 coconut saplings in the 6 acres out of the total land parcel of 17 acres.
During my visit to the farm in the year 2015 rekindled my affinity towards trees, plants and nature. The farm income for the entire 17 acres was less than Rs30K per annum. At that juncture, I felt i should pack the entire farm with neem trees and just covert into a forest and leave it alone. Since anyways the income of Rs30K per annum is too less to even fund my trips to my village.
But in come days and months, my plan started to change when i started to watch videos on youtube on farming. I was always inclined to take up a natural method and was never inclined towards chemical farming.
